Editorial Policy
Last updated: 2026
This policy describes how TextKit creates, reviews, and maintains its content. It exists so you know exactly what you're getting when you read a page on this site — and so we hold ourselves to a consistent standard.
1. Originality
Every page on TextKit is original work. We do not scrape, spin, or rewrite content from other sites. If we reference another source, we link to it openly. Our tools are implemented from scratch in TypeScript; we do not embed or rebrand third-party widgets.
2. Authorship
Every content page carries a named author with a public bio. The primary author is Muhammad Umair, founder and editor of TextKit. Technical content involving typography, encoding, or accessibility is reviewed by named experts listed in our experts directory, and those reviewers are credited on the relevant pages.
3. Fact-checking
Factual claims — character limits, readability formulas, Unicode behavior, encoding rules — are verified against authoritative sources (Unicode.org, W3C specifications, Google Search documentation, style guides such as AP and Chicago) before publication. Where a claim is contested or evolving, we say so.
4. Use of AI assistance
We may use AI tools to assist with early drafting, brainstorming, or proofreading. AI does not author published content. Every page is substantially written, edited, and fact-checked by a human (Muhammad Umair, or a named contributor). We do not publish AI-only content, and we do not bulk-generate pages from templates.
5. "Last reviewed" dates
Every tool guide and article shows a "last reviewed" date. We periodically review high-traffic pages to confirm they're still accurate — particularly pages about platform limits, which change over time. If you spot an outdated figure, please let us know.
6. Corrections
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it promptly and, for significant errors, note the correction on the page. Report an error via our contact page.
7. Conflicts of interest
TextKit is supported by display advertising. Advertising never influences editorial content. We do not accept paid placements in our tool rankings, and we do not write favorable reviews in exchange for compensation. See our advertising policy for details.
8. User-generated content
TextKit's tools run entirely in your browser and do not transmit your text to our servers. We do not publish user-submitted text. If we add comments or community features in the future, we will publish a separate moderation policy.
9. Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Read our accessibility statement for our current status and how to report issues.
